I'm in favour of not changing the logo, for branding and consistency. However many have expressed a significant preference for the bird over the fruit. So lets leave it to the team decide/vote. This poll closes in 7 days so that we can get our brand aligned early with minimal cost in case we change.

The problem with the kiwibird logo is that it's trying to be two "living" things at once: a face (the druplicon) and a bird - the kiwifruit has more of a story to it I feel... "Druplicon goes kiwiana". It's a clearer communication of the idea. If anything the Name should be changed to DrupalSouthNZ because DrupalSouth could be "South Africa, South America, etc" but that's a whole other debate and time-wise it wouldn't be a fruitful (ahem) one.
though I can't see a voting widget.
The blue & white bird logo is too abstract, and would be hard for anyone unfamiliar with what it's trying to be to recognise.
No need to change from the friendly fruit.
