Comments

Do you mean OpenPublic Distribution?

Akram,

** I am moving this discussion off of the Intranet Sites group and into the openpublic group.

Do check out the information available at http://openpublicapp.com/ and http://drupal.org/project/openpublic
But here's the short list of how to install it:
- download the tar file from http://drupal.org/project/openpublic
- place the tar file in your web root
- unpack the tar file
- move the contents of the openpublic directory UP one level to your webroot
- be sure the accompanying .htaccess file is also moved from the openpublic directory to the webroot
- now visit the URL that this webrot serves.
- you are now engaged in the INSTALL process.
- you will be asked for a database name, username, and password. You need to have created these prior to running the install script. If you need assistance creating these, please consult your web host.

Was that helpful?

sorry amigos but datapublic not opendata
thinks

Copy datapublic folder into the profiles folder in D7 core

Jon Antwi's picture

Hi Akram,
Get the latest version of D7 core and extract it.
Then download the datapublic tarball from the d.o. and extract the zipped file into the D7 core profiles folder.
FYI the unzipped folder will be named datapublic
And just do as you would any Drupal installation and select datapublic as your preferred installation profile when prompted.

That's it and just follow the arrow.

Ahh, Akram, now i see what you are referring to.
Then you can still follow my instructions.. but use http://drupal.org/project/datapublic instead of the openpublic source files.

There is no group for datapublic and there is no generic group for distributions or support. Since this post is not about openpublic, I'm moving it to drupal4gov since this is a gov related topic.

And while we're on this topic...

I had no idea this distribution existed. I know that the state of Georgia just launched 55 sites on Drupal using OpenPublic. They moved off of an expensive Vignette, Oracle, Java implementation.

I'm curious Akram, what is it about datapublic that has you wanting to try it out? Have you looked into OpenPublic already?

I'm also curious if any one else has experience in DataPublic.

Thnx,

There's also OGPL

It is not a distribution, but there are step by step instructions in the github documentation for standing it up. Keep in mind, it is geared toward governments that are planning to open their data. So, if that's the intent, you might want to use the contact us page and request assistance.

Just a minor kind of drupal geeky girl and for the US government no less!
