Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi,

I'm a long-time Drupalista, but more recently spending the majority of my contribution time as a Mozilla Rep, and Mozilla's Webmaker project teaching kids web and digital literacy.

We're launching (what we think is) the first Youth Open Source project (GenOpen) through our global network of Mozilla Reps running webmaking hackjams, and we need ideas FROM kids about what we should build.

My blog post looking for ideas: http://tiptoes.ca/?p=925

More on the project itself: https://wiki.mozilla.org/GenOpen

If any of you have time to talk to a kid/youth in your life about their most imaginative('crazy' is also acceptable) ideas for the Web might be, and then submit that idea on the form (also on the blog) I would be so appreciative.

Our hackjam participants will select their favorite idea and through series of events (prototyping, architecture, first commit) the project will be launched for Open Education Week (March 11th).

Thanks for your help! I'll also report back on the project as it progresses - should anyone want to run a participating hackjam.

Again - thanks!
