I put stevia leaves in my tea. It's a plant-based, non-sugar sweetener, and it's available in powder form, too.

Funnily enough, the FDA banned stevia back in the 90's due to "insufficient safety data" as a food additive (presumably due to lobbying from the sugar industry) but stevia was later allowed to be sold as a dietary supplement. Crazy US laws…

Some people don't like the taste. If I make tea for them I sometimes use xylitol instead.

I used to buy Truvia, a sugar-like, natural sweetener sold in granule form. It's made from stevia and erythritol, but then I learned that it was co-developed by Coca Cola, a company that I don't like to support.
