Experiencing problem on hosted site with inability to save settings changes in DS

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am on Drupal 7.14 (and 7.19), running both DS 7.1.5.and 7.2.0 (trying everything). I have the site running on 3 hosts, and on a dev server (1.66GHz and 2GB ram). The site itself runs everywhere.

But, I am having a problem on hosted sites that I hope someone else has experienced, and can walk me through a solution ... please!

I have 180 custom block fields necessary for 7 content types. On my dev server, AND on iPage, I am able to open "Manage Display", move fields around, add new ones, etc. On 2 other hosts, the little blue circle spins overnight. I cannot open any of the settings gears. Nothing works when i try to change something. (Explanation: iPage is sooooo slow. So, i went to HostPapa - fast, but it did not open. Went to Quartet (Toronto), really, really fast, but again, i cannot manage the site - that's why I have 3 hosts. I only want one, but it has to work properly.)

I can only speculate, but it seems it must be a memory thing. I have managed all the .htaccess settings, php.ini etc,and when I run a status report, it says I have up to 512 available. But, as i understand it, that does not mean the host really has granted me access.

I have disabled colorbox and my field collection modules ... it still does not allow changes.

Is anyone more experienced with Display Suite able to help? Ideally, i am hoping someone else had this happen, and knows what to tell their host.

I appreciate any insight that can be provided.
