It's hard to believe that the idea for breaking the community media related modules up into starter kits aimed at the easy, moderate, and difficult levels was suggested just a year ago at the pre-SXSW Community Media Summit. We've come a long way in that year and reached a major milestone last month when channelAustin and MNN both moved the Difficult Kit.
I'll be announcing details about another major milestone after the next CiviCRM beta... ONE CLICK CM STARTER KIT INSTALLS ON PANTHEON. We've started testing this with CiviCRM 4.3 using the CiviCRM Starter Kit. This distribution uses the same CiviCRM packaging process as Community Media's Moderate Starter Kit, but with just a few modules.
The first/mountain man beardcast of the season is ussually something I've very excited about. Last year it was Views Isotope. This year it isn't a specific module, but the process that's evolved for deciding what is added to the starter kits and how that actually happens.
Beardcast #4 follows issue #1942320 from CM Theme -> Easy Starter Kit -> Moderate Starter Kit and involves @westis, @jdcreativity, @stefanwray, and I all doing part of the work.
This year's beard is really epic. I'm sad to see it go. My wife is not. This year's accomplishments are also epic. A HUGE thanks to everyone who has contributed to making this happen!
