Hello library Drupalers,
I am setting out to create an online book club in Drupal and I am looking for some suggestions/advice.
Here's the basics of the functionality: book club admins create individual book clubs, send out emails to club members, create discussion topics.
Book club members either create a new website account or user their current account to sign up for a book club. Users only post to discussions and receive email pertaining to clubs they sign up for.
There are a lot of issues going on here, so first I will start with one inquiry: I would like the admins to add discussion topics to each "club" content type, and these would link from the main club page to it's own discussion page (with threaded comments below it). Is there an easy way to add this into the functionality of the content type? I suppose it might generate a link and create an "article" based on the discussion topic added.
Any feedback would be great! As well as general feedback on other aspects of the functionality.

Organic Groups
You should look at Organic Groups module if you haven't already. It was basically designed for your use case. http://drupal.org/project/og
