Proud to announce we're once again teaming up with CMS Expo for Meetup Monday Night on May 13th. Our featured topic will be "Drupal Startup Night". We'll take a look at four local Chicago based startups powered by Drupal and hear from our guest speaker Kieran Lal about Drupal based startups around the world. Our meetup will be one of many CMS user groups meeting at CMS Expo, but only ours will be focused on startups (and Drupal). Free to everyone (CMS Expo attendee or not), this awesome community event is a must-attend for content management fans. We expect hundreds of CMS users to attend, register for free at cmsexpo.net. We're hoping everyone can attend to show the power of Drupal in numbers!
BEFORE MEETUP will be a Drupal only "Cocktail Hour / Open House" at Creative Coworking, a members-only workspace and meeting place, founded by Angela and Stelios Valavanis. Angela works from the space as a freelance writer, editor, and marketing consultant. Stel has been in the technology industry for over twenty years and owns onShore Networks. Early CDMUG members will remember onShore as our original meetup location back in 2006! Snack/drinks provided courtesy of Creative Coworking and then we will walk to CMS Expo as a group. Feel free to find us at directly at CMS Expo, but please join us if arriving early.

Matthew Lechleider with local Chicago based startups will provide a brief description about their projects and a quick demo of each site. Collectively our goal is awareness of local startups and that "Drupal + Startups = Awesome".
Kieran Lal is the Technical Director of Enterprise Sales at Boston-based Acquia. In this role, he provides technical leadership to the Acquia sales team and works closely with Acquia's customers. He has been a leader in the Drupal community since 2004, when he earned his nickname, Amazon, by following a dream that he was biking through the Amazon river basin. That spirit of adventure continues in his multiple roles within the Drupal community today.
The Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group is proud to present two featured presentations about the hottest Drupal topics. Please remember that our May monthly meetup will be happening at same time as various other user groups within the CMS Expo conference. Tonight, Drupal Startup Night @CMSExpo in Evanston
Friendly reminder that our monthly meetup is TONIGHT within the CMS Expo conference. Multiple user groups will be having meetups at the same time. Topic of the night is "Drupal Startup Night" with 4 featured local Chicago based startups utilizing Drupal, plus a presentation from Kieran Lal of Acquia about Drupal startups around the world.
NOTE we're meeting at two locations tonight. First a Drupal only "Cocktail Hour" at Creative Coworking (922 Davis St) down the street from CMS Expo in downtown Evanston starting at 6:00pm. Members are encouraged to stop by Creative Coworking if you arrive to Evanston early. We will walk as a group to CMS Expo. Otherwise feel free to meet at Hotel Orrington (1710 Orrington Ave) for meetup starting at 7:30pm.
