Any Tulsa meetings... ever?
T-Town
There used to be a group over there, but the lead for that area moved to Dallas in the last couple years.
Would be glad to help you get one started over there.

I am a newb.
I would need more help than most people wanna put into it, lol.
I've got 15 years experience with phpNuke > PostNUke > Zikula and I'm dual-learning Wordpress and Drupal at the same time... er, correct that. I've got Wordpress figured out for MY needs (read no coding required) and I've already pumped out a few Wordpress sites for clients and friends.
But I want Drupal under my belt because it 'feels' like the CMS for me... kinda like a Web version of MS Access which is the application that got me into programming in the first place back in 1995. Relational data and it's output... sigh. lol
So if you know someone locally (or internet local) that would be willing to do some back-and-forth knowledge exchange I would LOVE to head up a local Drupal group. I started an FB page for a local group but it was mainly in the hopes of finding someone that would be willing to help me get my knowledge base off of the ground. lol.
We're on IRC
We're on IRC constantly.

There are a bunch of other channels as well, but ping me if you show up in there, and I can help you get around a bit and learn where the greater drupal community spends a lot of its time. Getting involved from there is pretty easy. We have a number of structured events in the community to help you get used to contributing and learning drupal from a code perspective. It's good stuff.
