DUG Location and Format

At last Thursday’s Drupal User Group meeting there was a brief discussion about the recent changes to the location and format of our meetings. I thought it would be nice to write a little update here.

Location Relocation

This spring we began the hunt for a new location after suddenly losing our long-term meeting space at Amazon. We ended up spending a number of months this summer at the HUB in Pioneer Square. We recently were presented with the opportunity to meet at Tableau, a local company with a history of supporting our group. The current plan is to continue to meet at Tableau for as long as they extend their generous invitation.

Format Reformat

Earlier this summer we adopted a new format for our meetings. We have been looking at our meetings as ways to explore single subjects in depth. As the leaders of the group, Rick (rlhawk) and I thought this approach offered a nice way to try out something new and to get more people involved during the meetings.

As SeaDUG goes through changes we want to make sure that choices made are always supporting the long term health and growth of our group. Input from members is always welcome.
