Here's a list of the top .ca websites ranked by access statistics as supplied by Alexa as accessed by people in Canada. It uses the detection logic from the Wappalizer project.

This site combines Alexa data, Wappalizer logic and PhantomJS (for the screencaps) to present the top lists. Analytics is first run through some custom PHP CLI which creates YAML files that simply go into a long text field for each date and country and is presented through a custom field formatter.
I wrote the site over a weekend a couple of weeks ago and have been adding a few new countries every week, so I'm sure it can be made a lot better but it's already pretty useful and interesting, I think. There's also an international top list and the full index:

Ce site combine les données Alexa, Wappalizer logique et PhantomJS (pour les captures d'écran) pour présenter les listes de haut. Google Analytics est d'abord passer en revue certaines CLI PHP personnalisé qui crée des fichiers YAML qui vont simplement dans un champ de texte longue date et pour chaque pays et est présenté par un formateur de champ personnalisé.
J'ai écrit le site sur un week-end il ya quelques semaines et ont ajouté quelques nouveaux pays chaque semaine, alors je suis sûr que cela peut être fait beaucoup mieux, mais c'est déjà très utile et intéressant, je pense. Il ya aussi une liste top international et l'index:

Could you add an explanation of what it means when it shows "#1 (#367 overall)". Similar numbers also show on the International listing, or are these just the top drupal sites with the overall being all sites?

The first number is the rank in terms of only taking Drupal sites into account, so #1 would mean the most popular Drupal site, while the second is the rank in the country, so the site is the #367th site in the country. You can match this with the rank as presented for that site on the Alexa site.
TopDrops.org
TopDrops.org http://topdrops.org is a new site that is now without branding and more focussed in support of the Drupal community. It parses the top 1 million websites (if all goes well, weekly) to find the top Drupal websites, ranks them and notes the people who built them (as well as their Drupal Association membership).

Hi Riaan,
Definitely a very interesting overview. Did you drop the Alexa rank in topdrops to only show a chronological ranking of Drupal sites? I think it would be great to see the top Drupal sites out of the Alexa ranking plus the rank it has in the Alexa list, similarly to what you did in the first link on burtronix. Alexa offers categories and filters to select specific categories like Education would be awesome, too.

Good ideas
I did this so fast I had to try to just get the most done in the time available. Which is why I left the overall (non-Drupal) rank out too - that's available on alexa itself.
Got some nice ideas of what to do next though, thanks. Right now, I want to turn this into a single page app using AngularJS as a learning project for myself. Then a mobile app using PhoneGapp.
Unfortunately the free list of a million sites by Alexa doesn't have the category information included. The bought data for the per-country site did have it included, but I didn't save it. That also ended up costing me 15 grand, so a bit expensive for a fun project ;-)
