- Another fantastic meetup! We had 12 folks in attendance (old-timers and 1st-timers).
- Shrop kicked things off with info on a number of changes to our various meetings and announcements about upcoming events:
- We are now going to try to have next month's Drupal Roundtable topic ready to announce at each meeting. David Norman and Thomas Lattimore have both recommended that we change the title of Drupal Roundtable to the main topic. We did this for the September meeting and announced the October meeting. The hope is that members can make a more informed decision on attending the meetings if they know the core topic each month.
- October's Drupal Roundtable presentation: How to Manage Drupal Configurations Like a Boss
- Don't forget about "Module Development 101" on September 14th.
- We have made some changes to Lunch Camps. Instead of meeting twice per month, we are going to meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month. We have also changed the location to The Saloon at the NC Music Factory. We think the group will give others an opportunity to attend who haven't been able to when it has been in the University Area. Details.
- We have re-branded Drupal Coworking Day as TechCLT Coworking Day to draw in more than just Drupal enthusiasts. Let's cowork Charlotte!
- Charlotte Drupal Drive-in is in the planning stages for February 22nd, 2014. If you are invested in being a part of the planning, please contact Thomas Lattimore. The best way to reach Thomas is at @tlattimore on app.net or Twitter.
- This is the first meetup where we broadcasted the meetup as a Google Hangout. We will try to do this in the future for those who are remote or cannot attend in-person.
- Scott Deeter, Brent Dunn, and Eric Veal presented "Getting data into Drupal using the Migrate module".
- Scott used a live demo to show examples of migrations from CSV files
- Brent continue where Scott left off by showing addition migration examples and a Wordpress to Drupal migration which left the crowd speechless. Check out Brent's code on github.
- Eric showed us a "real world" example of the migration module for one of his client websites.
- The meeting concluded with a few questions folks had about their websites.
