Spokane group: getting your questions answered

At our last meeting, someone (sorry, can't remember who) asked whether we had a forum where we could ask Drupal questions and get them answered.

My response was that if people want to post questions here on https://groups.drupal.org/spokane-wa that I'd pledge to at least read them -- hopefully others will too!

What I'd suggest is that we make sure "Spokane" is in the title line -- the reason is that at least some of us are subscribed to multiple groups, and at least in my case, I get the updates in a daily digest, with all the groups lumped together. There's no obvious way to see which group posts are in, and I don't read all the posts that come through in that digest.

So if you start your title with "Spokane question:" I'll know where it's from and will make a special effort to answer it.

Other options:

• A lot of people are using http://drupal.stackexchange.com/ to find answers to their Drupal questions. You may even be able to search and find that your question has already been answered there -- I sure find that if I do a Google search for a Drupal topic, those pages are coming up a lot in results, and usually their information works out very well.
• If you want something more immediate and more interactive help, most days I am logged into IRC during the workday. If you don't know about IRC, it's a chat system -- read about it and how to get connected at https://drupal.org/irc . Two options:
  1. We have a "Pacific Northwest" channel (#drupal-pnw) and you can ask questions there. Sometimes they won't get answered immediately, but I check to see if there are chats there several times a day at least, and others do too, so if you ask a question and hang out for an hour or two, quite likely an answer will come your way.
  2. #drupal-pnw is a small channel... if you want something even more immediate and are not intimidated by hundreds of people (or just want to absorb the flow of information), you can try the #drupal or #drupal-support IRC channels.
