I just learned my panel proposal for the Open Source CMS Summit next week was accepted. I'm jumping head first into this stuff and will present my experience putting together a specific distribution. I'm stoked to meet some of you in Sunnyvale. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any points you'd like to see covered or have anything at all to contribute. (scott -AT- pando -DOT- com).

Also -- if anyone can
Also -- if anyone can identify specific gaps in documentation, for example, I might take a crack at helping out with that, as well.
Few real live examples
There are few real live examples. The one page in the handbook actually doesn't discuss any of the hard stuff -- i.e. applying configuration changes out of the box.
For Drupal 5, something like my crud.inc library (http://groups.drupal.org/node/3179) is, as far as I can tell, a necessity.
Between crud.inc and the handbook, we probably want to post some "install profile snippets" so people can pick and choose and put together their own system.
And I'll be at OSCMS....we can perhaps spend some time over the weekend talking about this as well.
