Nothing for now. All I can imagine doing is reaffiliating the group with Archive instead of Event Planning. Content should remain accessible, searchable, etc. Agreed?
Moshe - thanks for all your great groups.drupal.org contributions!
I agree with your comment suggesting to archive events that have taken place and allowing content to remain accessible, searchable, etc. A definite +1.
Furthermore, I can see a need to be able to go back to an event that has already taken place and add a comment here and there. For example:
folks might have a question about something that was discussed at the event.
folks might want to add an update about something that was discussed at the event.
folks might want to post some type of after-action report to highlight/detail presentations.
folks might want to post follow-up actions that are still ongoing from the event.
However, does archiving an already-taken-place event (expired event) mean that one would no longer be able to add postings to it as described in #2 above? And, if so, where would one then post for the expired and thus now-archived event?
I see one drawback, however, to posting to an expired event (if that's even possible) per my suggestion in #2 above, and it is that some (many?) folks might "unsubscribe" from the expired event (if unsubscribing is possible) and thus never see any new postings. I, however, would envision myself staying "subscribed" to expired events in order to easily go back to them should I need to. Would one's subscription to an event being archived be automatically expired?
I currently have the 3 groups on groups.drupal.org that I belong to set up to receive emails anytime someone submits a post, and I would hope that an archived group would operate in the same way, i.e., that I would receive emails from archived groups (assuming posting to them is possible per my #2 above) as well as non-archived groups if that's my preference.
Again, Moshe, thank you for all that you do...and while I'm at it, thanks to Robert Douglass as well. I commend both of you on your excellent contributions.
