Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy is a not for profit organization based in Bangalore. Our objective is to improve the quality of life of the urban citizen by improving urban governance. We believe in providing systemic solutions to every issue affecting our lives in cities and towns through a regional perspective, empowering citizens and local government, enabling citizens and local government and direct accountability of the government to its citizens. All our programmes fall into one or more of these categories. One of our initiatives called Area Suraksha Mitra is being designed and implemented in partnership with Civil Defence and the Bangalore Police Department in order to enable neighbourhood security through structured participation.
