Things are looking good for a strong multilingual Drupal 6! A lot of good work has already been knocked out, and now we need people to start testing the current codebase (svn repository) and to provide feedback on how it works. Please post comments here or on the issue tracker .

But we are not only thinking of Drupal 6. We're also working on current Drupal 5 multilingual options like Localizer and Internationalization packages, and preparing the path for a smooth transition to future versions.

For people to easily follow on that, we've created a new 'multilingual modules' category that already has six modules listed to group existing and future related modules. Roberto Gerola and I will collaborate to improve the compatibility of both solutions, and will share our efforts and work to make the upgrade to Drupal 6 easier. We’re also considering spinning off some modules from the main huge package so they can be shared and smoothing compatibility issues to allow other contributed modules to work with both options.

We look forward to your feedback.
