Drupal chosen to power Virginia Tech Families Site

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Drupal was chosen by iDotMind (http://idotmind.com) to power http://vtfamilies.org, a forum site with donation links to Virginia Tech, and an Emergency SMS messaging system. iDotMind Partner Dan Walk created the website after the tragedy struck close to home: his sister, Carrie is a Virginia Tech student.

Dan and iDotMind donated the emergency SMS contact form to the Drupal website because he and his parents were unable to get through the busy signals to see if Carrie was ok. They hope that it will be helpful in the future for any other emergency where an SMS message can be sent and when replied to, the reply will be directed to an email account.

Please, visit the website at http://vtfamilies.org to see how easy Drupal is (if you're on here though you probably already know that) and post any thoughts, support, concerns, prayers, etc... that you would like to express to remember the victims.

Additionally, there has been a topic started listing tainted domain names that were bought up by domain name speculators who are now trying to sell them and or are motivated by ad revenue.

Thanks everyone!

again, it's http://vtfamilies.org
