User group meeting

With the holidays upon us we've decided to do forego our regular 4th Wednesday meetups in November and December to hold a combined session on December 11th instead. Join us for Wilbur Ince's presentation on Version Control and Features (see full post for details) on Wednesday December 11th from 7-9PM at Intermedia Arts.

Topic

Our good friend Wilbur Ince will share his expertise and wit on the following:

Drupal, Version Control and Features
- or -
How to have a successful committed relationship with Drupal!

Version control, also known as source control (and an aspect of software configuration management), is the management of changes to documents, computer programs, large web sites, and other collections of information. We'll explore using VCS (Version Control Systems) with Drupal.

Our discussion will focus on how the Features module allows us to effectively use version control to capture Drupal configuration for versioning.

It should be an interesting discussion for Drupal pros and amateurs.

If the topic does not interest you, don't forget about the fabulous prizes!

Community Lab Hours 5-7PM

Don't forget we're holding Community Lab Hours from 5-7PM right before the meetup in the same location. Come work on Drupal, get some help with your questions, share your ideas, get some stuff done!

Drupal eCommerce meetup 6-7PM

Maryann King will not be able to host this month's meetup. However, we'll set up the conference room for a group showing/discussion of this past week's Commerce Guys webinar Architecting Drupal Commerce.

Door prize

One more time (at least). Due to the great generosity of Chris Shattuck, we will be giving away a gift card for free access to the acclaimed Drupal online video learning library BuildAModule. Remind me to do this and you'll have the opportunity put your name in the jar for the chance to win.

The good stuff: Socializing, networking, food, beverages

Pizza? Yes. Bring a beverage to share. Eat, drink, talk, network...

Through unforeseen circumstances, I find myself with extra time on my hands this week. As a committer to providing a meeting topic, I will claim the Nov/Dec presenter role.
