This post may save some one some time that i spent looking for how to have my quiz display set of 5 or 6 random questions from a pool of 20 questions for example.
I started with quiz and created a set of questions (MCQ) and assigned them to this quiz then started to check how to mark those questions as random, I started by setting Randomize questions > Random questions and went to Manage Questions to set the number of questions to display in the quiz, every time i set Number of random questions to 5 i get this message "The number of random questions for this Quiz have been lowered to ?? to match the number of questions you assigned"
I was expecting to find something like mark this questions as random but i found that the questions is marked as random if the quiz itself have the option Randomize questions > Random questions set, so new questions will be marked as random and existing old questions will be marked as permanent unless you updated them to remove from the quiz and re assign again
