Hi, we're meeting up again this Thursday and have a few items lined up.
Presentation
Andrew MacPherson is our Special Guest and he will talk/present about the Drupal 8 field UI API and associated modules. We're planning to broadcast and record the talk with Google Hangout so it can be shared with the community.
Please get in touch if you're working on a cool project or subject that you'd like to share with us and be our Special Guest. Just a talk is fine but if you have a presentation that would be great too.
Drupal Camp NW
Drupal Camp North West was another great camp with many interesting sessions and above all a great Drupal people! Stefan attended and did two ad-hoc presentations. Stephanie Hosny (one of the organisers) kindly put together a swag bag for our user group!
Tour de Drupal
The Tour de Drupal is an initiative by Rachel and Stefan to cycle to DrupalCon Amsterdam next year. If you haven't heard of it yet the Tour de Drupal initiative is gaining momentum within the community with many people being keen to join. To get an idea of what it's all about please watch the recorded talk by Rachel and Stefan at Drupal Camp NW. Also, Bert Boerland has featured the Tour de Drupal in his blog here.
The Command Line
After George Boobyer from Blue Bag kicked off The Command Line with a brilliant presentation recently it is now turn to someone else to share his/hers favourite Command Line tips and tricks.
Coworking space
The office-space for the Drupal Somerset meet ups has seen a change in layout recently and is now a coworking/event/meeting space with a plug-and-play approach. If you're a freelancer or micro-business looking for a cool place to work from or are someone looking for a workshop/training space in central Somerset then get in touch with The Studio.
Join us remotely
If you like to join us but can't make it to our meet up in person then please let us know so you can join our Google Hangout. Alhough this is not quite the same as physically being there it worked really well the other day for one of our Drupal friends in Norway who didn't have any local user groups in his area. Just send a tweet to @drupalsomerset of email us via the Contact page if you'd like to join virtually.
All in all there's plenty to get on with.
