Peter - what kind of cellular service are you receiving on Lake of the Woods - or will you require satellite service?
It's always been my sense that Ice Fishing is more about sitting is a small cozy cabin on the ice than it is about catching fish - you can do Drupal or play Poker, depending upon who you are ice fishing with.
Now that I think about it - if you have a local development environment set up and a git repository, you don't even need internet service to do Drupal.
Having said all of that - I recommend saving Drupal for when you are back at home....
