Hi, everyone -- I hope that this is appropriate and, if not, please advise and I'll retract and not do it again. I wanted to pass the word that there is a terrific Startup Weekend happening this coming weekend (Jan 17-19) in Fredericksburg, VA. It'll be the second SW that has been hosted here and I was truly amazed by the quality and caliber of the first one, hosted last June. The venue (Germanna Community College is lovely and convenient). The food is good -- and there's plenty of food all weekend! The judges were amazing, great coaches, and a world-class facilitator. Last time I went, it was with the intent of finding a local Drupal pro to work with me on my own startup. I was bummed with the lack of Drupalers there -- and saw the huge potential to showcase and introduce Drupal to potential new startups. A friend of mine is the event organizer and she's provided a discount code for the Richmond crowd --- bit surprise, it is "RVA" and I believe it gets $20 off the $99 fee. Selfishly, I'd love to see more Drupalers there and, charitably, I'm happy to put this on your radar if it wasn't already. Just google Startup Weekend Fredericksburg and you'll find it.
