Agenda!

I created a Google doc for the agenda and notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S6XRHSenEu56Rbf5GJuWUR8esXlzMeiMRcxC...

It's our first meeting, so we're kicking off with the basics: how to organize ourselves and milestones.

One of our goals this year is to do more work within subcommittees. We'll need folks to chair and staff those groups.

Our camp is fantastic -- thanks to the great group of folks behind it. Help us create another amazing camp in 2014.

Join the meeting by calling 805-360-1000 and entering access code 814087#.

Thanks!

Date and group confusion

Barry Madore's picture

I'm all up for the TC Drupal Camp organizing calls. But I'm confused. This thread on March 5th is attached to the March 12th event. Also, it appears to be hosted in the Chicago Drupal Group. Is this an unintentional result of cross-posting?

I'd like to make sure that TC Drupal group people have access to participating (i.e. not have to be Chicago group members) and that we're not spamming Chicago group members with our business -- although I welcome any and all helpers (right, Bob?).

Training

Apparently I need training on creating and adding to events on gdo. Wasn't there a session about this very topic at TC D'OH?

Sorry about the mixed up post.

My fault

Yeah - that's actually on me. I created these on Saturday at TC DOH in an attempt to be helpful and transparent and share-y. And then I realized I had probably just inadvertently spammed a lot of people.

Furthering confusion is the fact that this thread is actually attached to the March 12 event. Keri added the Google Doc link here and now we're discussing here - even though today's meeting was actually https://groups.drupal.org/node/411303.

That this shows up as a Chicago event (at least in some contexts) is also quite confusing. That is because I wanted to be friendly and open and nice and so defaulted to over-sharing. So, I added our regional neighbor groups to these posts. Chicago is the first alphabetically of those groups - which is probably why this shows up as a "Drupal Groups Chicago" post in email subject lines and elsewhere.

As such, the fixes are:
1. Ignore the confusion. (Who cares if the email title says Chicago?!?)
2. Be less share-y and remove all other non-Twin-Cities groups from the node. (Who in Chicago wants email about a camp happening in the Twin Cities 5 months from now?!?)

2 is probably the better one. So unless someone voices a contrary opinion, I'll edit these nodes later today so that they're only posted to the TCDrupal group. (Friends and neighbors elsewhere - you're still welcome to participate, opine, etc. We'll be hanging out at https://groups.drupal.org/twin-cities).

So, yes, this is my cautionary tale of posting things too widely. Apologies dear neighbors for all this noise on your groups.
