March TCDrupal meetup -- mapping with Drupal

Join us for the March 2014 TC Drupal meetup on Wednesday March 26th from 7-9PM at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis. Interested in how to make maps happen on Drupal sites but can't make it to either Midwest Drupal Camp -- MidCamp or DrupalCon Austin? Well, TCDrupal's own Tim Erickson, stpaultim, will be debuting his Maps, Open Layers and Proximity Search presentation -- proposed for both of these prestigious, previously mentioned events -- at this month's meetup. Mapping with Drupal -- speaker Tim Erickson

There are a variety of mapping options for Drupal 7. In this session we will review some of the more popular modules and demonstrate how to accomplish some fairly common use case scenarios, such as:

• Putting the location of a specific node on a map
• Getting directions to or from a location
• Creating a single map that displays many nodes
• Filtering a map based upon proximity/distance to a user defined location
• Allowing users to filter content on a map based upon type of content

We welcome the audience to bring examples of how they have creatively used maps in projects and their own recommendations

on modules and resources.

Community Lab Hours 5-7PM

Don't forget we're holding Community Lab Hours from 5-7PM right before the meetup in the same location. Come work on Drupal, get some help with your questions, share your ideas, get some stuff done!
