CLF 2.0 theme developed by PWGSC

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I just wanted to pass on that there's a Canadian government Common Look and Feel (CLF) 2.0 theme that's been developed by Gabriel Duong at PWGSC. I discovered it today while browsing GCPedia. If you're inside the government firewall you can find it at http://www.gcpedia.gc.ca/wiki/Drupal_CLF_2.0_template.

Here's the description from GCPedia

"This CLF2 template (theme) for Drupal 6.xx has been posted here to encourage collaboration and innovation. The theme implements the TBS's CLF 2.0 v. 1.05 Internet template. The Drupal theme includes a CLF Meta tags MODULE for dynamically setting the Dublin Core.
The theme is XTHML 1.0 Strict compliant. The theme is WCAG v2 level AAA compliant according to the Total Validator."

And just after I posted that message I discovered that there's also a Drupal collaboration community on GCconnex (this is probably also behind the firewall: http://elgg.srv.gc.ca/elgg/pg/groups/39947/drupal-collaboration-communit...) where there's a message about a revision control site for Drupal CLF 2 themes:

"There is a site for structured revision control and issues management of "CLF 2.0 for Drupal" on the Intellectual Resources Canada (IRCan) facility http://tbscio.ircan.gc.ca/projects/show/drupalclf
The Drupal CLF project is a sub-project of "GC www Templates (CLF 2.0)" that the government-wide CLF community will be using for all CLF templates very soon."

I'm posting this information here because I suspect that most government employees use external search engine and so probably wouldn't discover what's already available in the government.

Access by Provincial Government Staff?

Hi

I work for the BC Government, and we would LOVE to see the work done here on the CLF project. Any chance I can request an account to GCconnex?

TIA
gary

I don't think that's possible

Would love to see greater inter-governmental cooperation around Drupal and other platforms. However, at the moment I don't think anyone can access GCconnex unless you are inside the government network. This means that it is restricted to government employees and embedded consultants. Kinda strange that IBM's consultants will have better access to a forum for public servants than employees of the government in BC, but there ya go.

The CLF theme that was used as a base for Buy and Sell is up on IRCAN, so that is one path.

There's TBS's new WET Framework, which will one day have a Drupal theme too.

Wait a few months

As soon as the Buy and Sell theme gets cleaned up, probably in the next few months, it will be incorporated into http://tbs-sct.ircan.gc.ca/projects/gcwwwdrupal?lang=eng. Stay tuned!

Excellent!

I very much look forward to seeing it. Also, to retire the old CLF drupal theme.

Hey Colan,

Sounds great!
FYI: from a Safari iPad browser, we thought there would be a way to improve the slight offset of the rounded corners, but upon further review, this seems to be common "rendering" issue on iPad/Safari. (overall looks and works great on iPad, including the sidebar jQuery expanders). Gotta love jQuery.

cheers.
