Now that we've covered the Field Collection module, we're going to explore several of its alternatives. The Field Collection module is great for creating related entities that are only used in a single place. If a site needs to be able to use that entity in multiple places, though, you much use something other than a Field Collection. The main alternative we'll be covering is the Inline Entity Form module. We'll also briefly examine other modules like References dialog and Entity connect.

Come on out for this month's
Come on out for this month's Drupal Meetup, 6pm next Monday at the Community Media Center. We'll be covering some important decisions every Drupal site has to make: how to best create relationships between objects. Field collection, which the last meetup covered, is definitely a good choice in some circumstances. But this week we'll take a step back and consider many methods for creating relationships, and their pros and cons. Hope to see you there!
