I posed a question on Twitter asking if there were any good lists of women-friendly open source projects. Using this to archive the results. It's a wiki, so folks should feel free to add their own suggestions as well. :)
(The short answer is not really, though one might be able to be sort of inferred from some of the below links.)
General resources
- http://adainitiative.org: An organization dedicated to supporting women in open technology and culture. They have a conference at http://adacamp.org
- Gnome Outreach Program for Women (OPW)
- OpenHatch: a non-profit dedicated to matching prospective free software contributors with communities, tools, and education.
- SocialCoding4Good: similar, but focused specifically around helping non-profits, etc.
- New England Regional Developers / Summit (NERDs): NERD aims to organize, educate, and advance the skills of web designers and developers in the New England region by nurturing a self-sustaining mentoring community and by directly addressing barriers to participation in IT. The first NERD Summit will be held at UMass Amherst, Sept. 12-14, 2014.
- Women Who Code: a global organization aimed at teaching women to code and creating a connected community of women in tech.
