Is anybody familiar with this event?

Anybody interested in putting together a drupal based team?

All the info about it is here: http://www.overnightwebsitechallenge.com/

I just received an email about it via meetup.com last night.

I participated the last

I participated the last couple years with a group of friends who worked on an all Drupal team. It was quite fun. They do a pretty good job of organizing the event, and I think they improved it a bunch in the second year, so I can assume that the third year will be even better.

It's a bit of a slog t work for 24 hours straight and actually get the website done, but it does focus you. I'd say you should definitely plan on helping the organization that you build your site for past the event. The non-profits generally will need some help with hosting and support even with their kick ass Drupal site.

It is something I would be interested in - just don't know about the 24 hour timeframe - not that I haven't done that for clients on my own -- but at home I can usually cave for a couple of hours. Even though I have been using Drupal for 2 years now - and have many sites, still feel like a novice, but working with a team, we can certainly learn from each other.

I also believe that follow-up is needed, if we really want the site to work for them -- and, as they find how wonderful that drupal is, they develop more needs and, and ....

did one for my church and the requests are never ending.

in summary, I would be interested in participating, but not able to pull it all together for everyone.

Supporting but not leading

I'm interested in participating, but don't have the time to lead this event. Perhaps my enthusiasm to attend will illuminate the choose one to step forward and lead us from the darkness!
