DrupalYOW Meetup
The very backbone of Drupal is of course, community. Here in Ottawa we have a thriving community of developers and it’s about time we start to foster that sense of community Drupal was founded on.
OPIN is hosting the fifth Ottawa Drupal Meetup on August 7th with support from the Ottawa Drupal Association and Acquia. Whether you’re Dries Buyteart himself or just a part-time dabbler in the Drupal world, all are welcome. We intend to have a beer, share some knowledge, make friends, and by the end of the event hopefully learn something new.
This meetup we have presenter Jayson Peltzer, CEO of U7 Solutions, and project lead on the Drupal intranet implementation for CSEC. Jayson will be discussing how your Drupal-based Intranet can be setup to (a) increase loyalty and employee engagement, (b) foster a content publishing community, and (c) create a true two-way dialog among staff and management.
Please indicate via the url provided if you would like to attend as there is limited space.
Date and Time: August 7th, 2014. 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: 320 Catherine Street, 2nd Floor. Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 5T5
All refreshments are generously supplied by Acquia (Vegetarian options too :) )
If you have any questions or are interested in presenting at the next meetup please contact Jon O'Sullivan at jon.o'sullivan@opin.ca
See you then!

Group on MeetUp
Hi, everyone
I missed this MeetUp and would love to attend the next one. Only thing is... I can't seem to find the Group on MeetUp.com. Is there an actual group on that site, or are all announcements done through this site?
Thanks
Not on Meetup
The Ottawa group does not appear to have a presence on Meetup. As such, all activity is organized through here.
If you disagree, I'd recommend discussing this with the local organizers, and possibly getting involved yourself.
We started using it for the Toronto group a little while ago, and it dramatically increased participation.
