Lots of new exciting news in the Conference Organizing world this week:
COD Beta 3
Over the past weekend, COD Beta3 was released! While mainly a module update with a few bugs squashed, including timeslots not appearing correctly depending on some permissions and workflows. Thanks to Nick Veenhof for finding the bug!
COD at Drupalcon Amsterdam
COD has made some great strides over the summer, with 5x distribution installs over what we had at Drupalcon Austin. The core 7.x team also was accepted to speak at drupalcon Amsterdam, where we will be holding a case study, BOF, and code sprint.
Case Study: https://amsterdam2014.drupal.org/session/cod-effectively-powering-confer...
Dyannenova, Jyee, and japerry will be going over Linuxfest Northwest -- a regional conference that has been using COD since the Drupal 6 days. We'll be showing the new features of COD, answering questions, and describing the future of COD in the next 6 months
BoF: https://amsterdam2014.drupal.org/bof/calling-all-conference-organizers
We'll also be holding a BoF for those more interested in an interactive Q&A session and looking for people to donate time at the code sprints to push documentation and UI enhancements to the distro. If you're not able to be at Amsterdam, we'll also be on IRC: #drupal-cod on irc.freenode.net
COD Long term strategy
The next big step is merging the work done on Drupalcon sites (CODZilla) into the mainline COD branch. To help with this effort, Emilie (Dyannenova) and I will be joining the Drupal Association September 15th. One of the immediate goals for the DA will be to stabilize the current drupalcon sites with a better plan for roll-out with COD in 2015.
With Beta we’ve seen a bit more traffic to the queue, and could definitely use help on squashing bugs. If you’re interested in registration, Jason Yee (jyee) would love help on the new ticket module.
