Hi jamaica ug,

i'm a guy from germany working with drupal since 2006. My mother of law is a jamaican and i will spend almost 3 month (feb - apr) in jamaica.

Is it possible to meet some of you to share some drupal and other stories?
It would be an honor.

Let me hear what you think.

Hope to see some of you soon.

Hey B00N, I was hoping

Hey B00N,
I was hoping someone else in the group would take you up on the offer. We have meetups periodically once there is enough enthusiasm.
We meet in Kingston usually by the Chilitos Mexican Restaurant, there are a couple regulars like varunity, sigismo and rasumo who usually help to plan our meetups. I'm sure axle_foley00, wired_yout, trevorforrest, brunox and others won't mind joining up as well. Many of the users mentioned have full-time Drupal related jobs.
One way we can kick off a great meeting is if you could share some interesting Drupal stuff you are involved in. We like educational presentations. I see that you recently ported a module to D8, perhaps you could share the experience, wins and challenges you encountered.

Many of our local government websites are hosted on Drupal, and we recently had a huge security breach (probably based on the d7 security hole) that made the news, maybe trevorforrest could share with us some of the background details of that situation.

Lot's to talk about, let's see if we can get people signing up for a late February meetupand promote it in the regular avenues.

P.S. I recently moved from Jamaica so unfortunately I won't be there but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun :-)

Hey B00N and Frazras, Yes,

Hey B00N and Frazras,

Yes, I've been meaning to respond but I completely forgot. I'm around and definitely up for a meetup and chat. Yea, I had a fun time upgrading, sites to solve that security threat. #drupalgeddon I'd love to hear more about how some of our government sites were handled @trevorforrest.

Let me know man, I'd love to meet at Chilitos or anywhere else that works for people.

Talk soon,
Varun

Will meet too

Hey Guys,
I am good to meet also...Just not on Thursdays...so if we can arrange a meetup on another day I am good. Yeah we were involved in that Govt website breach thing since we host many of them and designed a few. And yeah we were called in to fix the breaches and report to the OAS team who were on island....will be willing to discuss
