IT-Lagune Drupal Surf Camp 2016

The event will allow Drupal friends to experience the word "surf" in its double meaning. Water sports should be associated with technical issues and networking.

The Drupal Group West Pomerania - a working group of the association IT-Lagune - held in early September 2016 at one of the best beaches of the Baltic Sea, a 3-day Drupal Camp. The aim is to make the German Western Pomerania region more conscious for the Drupal friends.

We plan parts in English and in German. The professional Drupal topics are not fixed yet. Feel free to propose any.

• Location:

  • Prora
    Shares the beach with Binz - the top tourist location on the Baltic Sea - and is literally right next door. Prora is known for the Colossus of Rügen.

  • Jugendherge Prora
    The Youth Hostel with its campground is one of the largest youth hostels in Europe.

• Accommodation:

  • optional (prices are subject to change)
    • in the hostel for € 24.00 / person / night. including Breakfast
      (10 rooms a 2 beds, 59 rooms a 4 beds, 27 rooms a 6 beds)
    • on the campground for € 13.90 / person / night. including Breakfast
    • in the quality hotels in Binz and surroundings

• To Arrive

  • by train / by bus
    • By regional train via "Stralsund Hauptbahnhof" (Stralsund, Central Station) to "Prora".
    • With IC or EC on "Stralsund Hauptbahnhof" (Stralsund, Central Station) to "Binz" and from there with the RPNV bus directly to the "Jugendherberge Prora" (Youth Hostel Prora).
    • With the RPNV by bus from "Stralsund, Hauptbahnhof" (Stralsund, Central Station) to "Prora, Jugendherberge" (Prora, Youth Hostel)
  • by car
    • Drive along the "A20" motorway until "Süderholz/Stralsund", then take the motorway sliproad from "Rügen" to "Stralsund" and continue along the "B96". Shortly before you reach "Bergen", turn right onto the "B196" headed for "Binz/Sellin". When you reach "Karow", turn left and follow the directions for "Binz / Sassnitz / Prora". Turn left at the traffic light junction, then right again about 200 metres after the former "KdF Prora spa". Take a left after crossing the railway tracks. Follow themain road for about another kilometre until the end of "Mukraner Straße", then turn right towards the Youth Hostel.
