Using Openpublish
Try https://www.drupal.org/project/openpublish
Openpublish is a Drupal distribution that comes prepacked with lots of modules configured to create a news website. Please note that you would have to update drupal core after downloading that package, as there is a security fix for Drupal core available since the package was made.
Now Drupal supports multilingual website, but seems like you want to use just one language Malayalam. So that is not required.
You can use this project https://www.drupal.org/project/indic_script to input Malayalam into the textfields.
In case you want the admin interface to appear in Malayalam, then it is possible to do so. But the translation set is not complete.
And please visit
And please visit http://openpublishapp.com/ a website dedicated for distribution. Have lots of documentation and examples.
My sandbox for Malayalam
I was dealing with many other language sites and with that experience this is my sandbox for Malayalam. [http][rasagulla-zurosmak.rhcloud.com]/[ml] .
Key Modules: Local, Entity Translation, Block languages, Field translation, Internationalization, Menu translation, Variable translation.
If your site has only Malayalam, then you don't want to use any language modules. Just use unicode Malayalam text as content.
