Hey SADUG!
Would anyone be interested in a meetup? The SA Web Dev meetup group is pretty regular and we could work in something with them or do something separate. Geekdom is usually pretty flexible to help provide facilities, but I am sure we could find other options if necessary. At this point, the most important thing is drumming up interest.

I would
I'd be interested. I was pretty involved with Drupal back in D6 days and went to the SA group that Jonathan Dale organized. I'd be interested in reconnecting.

I'm down but Geekdom is a bit of a trek.. In what part of SA are you guys in?

I haven't been involved in a Drupal group since Jonathan stopped running the old SA group. That's been a few years. I don't care where we meet. I'm also out near 1604 north, but closer to 281.
I'd be interested
I've attended DrupalCon for the past few 3 years, so I've met a lot of people nationally, but haven't been a part of any local dev groups or meetups and figure I probably should. I am willing to go wherever for meetups, but am currently on the Northeast side (near Jones Maltsberger and Thousand Oaks).
I am in Northwest SA
I would be willing to listen to a proposal. I live by Helotes.
I used to attend our meetings
I used to attend our meetings back in the day which Jonathan (he's passed away now) and Charlotte-Anne started them. I'd be interested in a meetup. I'm in the downtown area.

I also live in Northwest SA
I've been dying for a Drupal meetup group here in San Antonio since I moved here two years ago from Philadelphia. We had a large and active group and were part of the annual Drupaldelphia conference. I live off of IH-10 and Callaghan and work from home, so I'd love the friendship of local peers and fellow Drupal developers.
I'm in!
I would love to join whereever / whenever. I'm in SA and I'm almsot 100% Drupal.

Rock on!
So, eight of us are interested, and that's basically a street gang, which is good enough for me.
I have started the process to reserve the Geekdom Events Center and we seem to have the green light. The next questions are when to start and frequency thereafter.
I think a quarterly meeting would be best. I have been to other monthly meetups and I am not sure meeting so often helps, especially when looking for presenters and/or topics to discuss. Please let me know your thoughts on a quarterly meeting frequency.
Regarding a starting date, I am completely open but am throwing out the first Monday of the quarter to get the conversation started. That would be next Monday, July 6th 2015. (I chose Monday as an opportunity to take anything we learn at the meeting and have a chance to apply it during the week.)
How does 6:30-8:30PM sound? I think two hours is enough to cover things like individual presenters, review module/core updates, time to mingle, etc. No obligation to say, just a timeframe as part of the reservation.
Again, I am totally flexible and eager to hear your thoughts.
Thanks again for the feedback folks!

Thank You David!
I want to thank David for taking the time and effort to get us a place to meet. I am certainly open to quarterly (at least to start out) meetings, and for the first one to be Monday 7/8.
Thanks again!

Location and time work for me
Monday's work for me and 7/6 Monday at 6:30 is good as well.

Don't thank me yet :P
Hey Gang,
Thanks for the enthusiasm and kind words. I'm excited.
We haven't landed the venue yet, but the request is in and the calendar seems to be open for Monday, 7/6/15.
I will know more tomorrow and update this thread then.
Cheers!
Venue acquired!
Hey gang,
The good folks at Geekdom have hooked up their largest conference room for us to meet up! They are even offering to order pizza. Very, very good times.
I have created a new event for the meeting: https://groups.drupal.org/node/472958
Although many have stated they will attend, please RSVP for the event to help me get an accurate head count, or else no pizza for us :P
I am putting together a small itinerary that I will post in the event later today, but if anyone has anything they wish to discuss, I am totally open.
Thanks again for the enthusiasm, and see you Monday!
