Hia, just notifying you that we (that is, my colleague) have made a small helper module called Strict filter for organic groups (og_strict_filter) - this module ensures that only nodes and terms that belong to the active group are shown. We use Spaces & Features outside of Open Atrium, and this helps us to only list books and book outlines that belong to the active group, as well as core blocks like "recent comments" only lists comments belonging to nodes belonging to that group.
It also works with taxonomy, meaning that the core forum.module can be used in space_og, we're currently working on a forum feature based on this!
(we haven't tested it with Open Atrium so there might be conflicts, but please put issues in the modules issue list!)
