NumbersUSA is a middle-ground Political Advocacy organization, interested in immigration reform; specifically, slowing it down just a bit, so as to catch up on national infrastructure, classroom sizes, preservation of wild spaces, jobs and their respectively sluggish wages, et cetera. We do not advocate for open borders nor do we advocate for closed borders... but simply the enforcement of immigration policy already on the books, if at a more historically rational pace that helps both the people already living there and those legally moving here. As you can guess, in the current political climate, this is a controversial stance with BOTH parties. Being comfortable with that is a distinct consideration any applicant will want to consider.

More specifically, we currently have a(n overly) massive drupal 7 implementation with an old drupal 5 implementation in complicated orbit, as well... not to mention, legacy infrastructures written both in perl and python. We have a lot that needs doing to normalize all this, bring it back up to spec, and proceed forward with new projects and tools. We have definite need for a PHP/Drupal savvy software engineer of journeyman prowess to come on board and help us solve some problems. In addition, we probably also have room for a more entry level PHP/Drupal developer as well. Experience with Python and Perl, MySQL and Mongo, Memcache, Solr, Varnish, Nginx, Apache, and Linux are all distinct plusses... but we understand that once you've taken the developer's red pill in one high level language, you've already got your foot in the door with learning others, and we've the flexibility to offer that opportunity.

This is a full time, on-site, well-benefitted (vacation, sick time, medical, dental, retirement, parking or transit) position that, in the short term, is in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington, but will be moving down to Crystal City around the end of the year.

I can field any questions or resumes for these positions personally, circa josh@numbersusa.com

Thank you, and good luck!
