Just a quick note to those attending DrupalCon next week. Two representatives of the Drupal Security team will hold a session next week at DrupalCon Barcelona: Drupal and Security: what you need to know. It is scheduled for Wednesday at 2:15pm. Come and learn about best practices to keep your Drupal site safe from hackers.
Beyond the scope of this session, if there is any interest in gathering for a Birds of a Feather, please leave a comment and we will put something on the calendar.
Note that there is another related session on security scheduled at the same time. This session will dive more into lower level hosting and devops aspects of security. Our session will be more general and talk about how the Drupal project deals with Security, what's the process of the Security Team, and general coding and site building best practices.

Some stats from DrupalCon
Thanks Mike for keeping this thread up to date.
Some stats from the DrupalCon security session:
- according to the organizers, 250 people attended the session
- there were about 2,000 attendees at the conference, that means our session attracted more than 10% of the attendees. Note that sessions were split into 10 tracks, and another session on security was running at the same time
- when I asked how many people were attending their first DrupalCon and were interested in security, about one third of the room raised their hand
- only a handful of hands were raised when I asked how many people attended DrupalCon Barcelona 7 years ago
