Drupal 8 will be released on November 19!
That's the night of our monthly users group meeting, so instead of our usual event, we should have a Drupal 8 release party. Let's discuss details (food, drinks, location, timing, etc.) here. What sort of event would you like to have?

Or maybe
Or maybe a D8-focused meeting with more beer than usual? The Dec meeting is usually pretty quiet so it would be a bummer for me to wait until Jan to listen to some awesome D8 presentations.
Though I've never been unhappy at a party with the SeaDUG crowd!
Either way works for me...
+1 on the party
you wouldn't believe how many core committers I had to pay off to get them to release D8 on the night of our User Group...

Sponsoring party
Regardless of where everyone decides they want to do this, Fuse IQ will pitch in to sponsor some drinks or food. I'll monitor the discussion and we'll figure it out.

Sounds great! (I was going to suggest the same :) )
Forum One would also like to sponsor!
Sponsors email Jared
I am looking to coordinate sponsors for the party. We will likely be looking to pull together some tasty drinks and food. Please contact me if you or your company would like to contribute.
Thanks!

Party time and location
We are going to have the release party in our usual meeting location which, if you haven't been there before, is the Commons in Northwest Work Lofts (3131 Western Ave). We will start earlier than usual (5:00) and end later than usual (9:00).

Timing is everything.
My plane tickets were bought before they announced the release date or I'd hang out with the SEA crowd. As it turns out, though: https://groups.drupal.org/node/490233

Drupal 8 Release Party: Attendance Count
Since we (Fuse IQ) are supplying the pizza, where do I get the final count on signups for the party so I know how much pizza to order?
Thanks,

Agreed -- that was a lot of fun, even if there was no 8 on our cupcakes. :)
Great to see everyone, and looking forward to our next SeaDUG.
