Hello all,
I am currently hosting my drupal sites with Netfirms.ca and I got a really bad surprise two days ago when the web site stoped responding with a 500 server error!
If you have any good hosting you recommend and bad ones to avoid please share them.
Thanks

Not easy to find shared hosting that works
Hey,
Just wanted to follow-up to say that good hosting is always a challenge. So many companies offer so much for so little, it's really difficult for any company to sustain this, particularly when sites get popular or new features get added which take up more system resources.
We've had fairly good experiences with http://iweb.com - but it totally depends what you're looking for. We've had some clients use them, but we are only using the dedicated servers ourselves.
We don't offer hosting, but set up support contracts which we can host on our equipment (or elsewhere). We charge to maintain the sites for our clients which involves our time (and sometimes our resources).
Drupal can be quite resource intensive because it is so modular. There are ways to adjust for that, but does take some time to configure it properly.
