Drop in for our inaugural Science on Drupal Office Hours on https://scienceondrupal.slack.com next Wednesday 10th February @3-5pm ET. To sign up, send us your Slack email - by emailing david@bluedotlab.org or ashepherd@whoi.edu or pinging us on IRC #drupal-science.

Up next week: we'll be looking at how to leverage schema.org module for the Data Management Training Clearinghouse, as well as following up on existing projects and issues being tracked on our Trello board. Bring along your ideas and problems and we'll take a look!

Hi all,

A gentle reminder - we'll be holding Office Hours today @3pm ET, so please do join us on Slack to chat, discuss or pitch in to improve Science on Drupal.

All the details are outlined above - additionally to sign up to our Trello board where we track ongoing work (https://trello.com/b/QX23p1bp), please sign up at trello.com and send us your account's email address on slack.

Look forward to seeing you there!

All the best, David

Report out from our first Office Hours

Hi all,

It was great to get Office Hours rolling today, thanks to Adam Shepherd and Eugene Chi for coming along and contributing. We made progress on:

  • Investigating how schema.org module can be used to implement LRMI metadata for the Data Management Training Clearing House project (Eugene, David)
  • Collating research on building an EZID API for the DOIs for Drupal project (David)
  • DataONE member node API (Adam)
  • Improving a patch for WMS maps in Leaflet module, in response to to drupal.org feedback (David)

We're looking to build up a library of HOWTOs for common tasks on Drupal, and we think using schema.org module could be a good contender - if anyone is interested in writing up a recipe or recording a short walkthrough for a telecon (to add to our youtube collection), let us know.

See you at our telecon in two weeks, or the next Office Hours next month at the same time.

Thanks! David

I AM INTERESTED

I do this for my personal and site's future reference. I use a lot of views and panels so, when I get to write a How to, I will share.
