BDUG 3/22: What can Drupal.org do for you?
TIME: 12:00-1:00pm
LOCATION: 2111 Bancroft Way (the "Banway" building)
In the course of working with Drupal, whether as a site builder, a developer, or even as someone just evaluating it, you may have questions about how things work - or why they don't. So you may turn to Drupal.org, and find that getting to the information you need on a site with (at last count) 2,687,205 pages can be difficult.
In this session, we will take a look at the resources provided by Drupal.org and talk about how to best take advantage of them. Topics include:
- Effectively searching drupal.org to get the latest information
- Finding communities near your location or sharing your interests
- Evaluating and comparing contributed modules
- Finding out if other people are having the same problem you are
- Using the issue queues to discover, report, test, and fix problems with your sites or your code
- Creating and submitting a patch
- Using the official API documentation
Bring your questions and your experiences, and if you have a hot Drupal.org tip, we'd love to hear it!
NOTE: Banway is a locked building. Someone should be in the lobby to let you in and key you up to the 4th floor. If no one is available to let you in and key you up, please call the conference room directly at 510-642-1597, and someone will come down to let you in.
About Berkeley Drupal Users Group meetings:
- We are making an effort to select topics that directly benefit UC Berkeley employees using Drupal.
- Please let us know if you are interested in presenting at BDUG.
- Discussion format: Meetings will not always be formal presentations. Some meetings will be discussions centered around a predefined topic. Discussions will be initiated by a leader who will briefly present an overview of the topic possibly including demonstrations or supporting materials. The session leaves ample space for organic discussion. Participants are encouraged to:
- Respond in these forums with ideas for the present meeting or future meetings
- Bring problems encountered, questions and contributions to the meeting

6/21 meeting?
Is the 6/21 meeting going to occur? (Need to schedule travel...)
Or have the D-Labs sessions replaced the meeting schedule? Thanks.
