Drupal GovCon
Looks like this is at the same time as Drupal GovCon.
Bound to happen
That's unfortunate, but this is bound to happen...soooo many Drupal events going on!!
We picked the same time as last years event which was successful and I believe DrupalGov was the same time lat year as well.
Maybe it shouldn't?
I don't know that I'd classify the the two largest Drupal events in US in the "sooo many events" class. I believe DrupalGov is the next largest event after DrupalCon. (and being a gov town, and all).
As you mention Pat, we already knew this was a conflict last year, and I know that a few long-term Drupal people locally go to this event. Should seam reason enough to consider a better date? (especially if those people are past presenters).
Maybe the board should consider. As long as the answer isn't going back to March break! lol (but that still gives close to 49 weeks as better options (factoring christmas).

Thanks for the input
Sooo many events in general Robin. Not on that specific date. The point is there is always something, some event, some conflict with booking a date. It's a great thing to see so many events in the Drupal community and unfortunately sometimes they overlap.
We chose this date last year and had almost 300 attendees. We didn't see a reason to change it to an alternative date as we think this is quite a successful turnout. It's unfortunate some people will chose DrupalGov over DrupalCamp Ottawa, but we can't please everyone and we just hope that people are getting their Drupal on!
Beyond that, the date has been booked for months, the venue paid for, and many things in motion. Thanks for the input, but it's a bit too late to make the change.
Next year
That's fine for this year, but it would be great if next year (and any years thereafter) we could remove the overlap for this other (very related) conference.
Definitely
Definitely taken into consideration for next year as we will be hosting DrupalNorth.

For following years
For following years would be a good consideration.
