HELP! Language per domain setup

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I'm not able to define a front page my French domain. I keep thinking that I'm a click away from finding the right setting but I don't see it.

I've defined talentdeleader.ca as my French "Language domain" at Configuration » Regional and language » Languages.

Then when I go to Configuration » System and click on the French variables for the page (see attached image) the English domain talenttolead.ca is only available for "Default front page", 403, 404 etc..

Since the node that I want to use as my front page is on the French domain, I can't enter it into the form.

See attached:

How do I get the French domain defined on that site information page?

It looks like the Domain Access module could be of use but I think it's complete overkill to solve this one issue:

What am I missing?

Any comments appreciated.

I think you need to go to admin/config/regional/i18n/variable and ensure the default front page is configured as translatable (assuming you have enabled i18n_variable).

I am not sure why you would want to use a node as a front page though - typically a home page has a custom layout and there are a lot of dynamic elements driven by views (sliders, recent posts lists, etc.). This is much easier to do with a single panels custom page for ALL languages... the page itself can be language agnostic and the elements inside (views content panes, beans, etc.) will translate when the language is switched.

To me this is a much better approach than using a node (potentially a content-type just for the home page) and a custom template that likely contains too much code.

SOLVED!

Thanks for the help!
