Docker promises us the ability to develop our Drupal sites on our local, and deploy to identical environments in staging and production.
An ideal setup would let us configure a new local environment in a matter of minutes, and automate testing and deployment.
Architecting applications using containers should enable us to deploy sites which can automatically scale to handle high peak traffic.
Djun will discuss about his experiences trying to realize these dreams, starting from the simplest examples.
About the Presenter
Djun started developing software early on a timeshared UNIX system. He has pursued this lifelong interest in software and understanding complex systems through several degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. He has written software for everything from web applications for online Mathematics homework, to Unix device drivers, to algorithmic music generation software. Djun's first web application was written in Perl in 1993 and is (amazingly) still being used. He started using Drupal in 2003 and hasn't looked back since. In his spare time, Djun studies guitar and classical piano. With his girlfriend, he competes nationally and internationally in ballroom dancing.
