A big Happy New Year from the Drupal Somerset team! Here's to an amazing Drupally 2017.

We will be discussing upgrading to PHP 7 now that PHP 5.6 is no longer actively supported. People are welcome to bring forward any issues they are having and the team can try to solve it together.

As usual, we will also be discussing the latest news and trends with the web industry, and catching up with the goings-ons of Drupal 8. We'd also like to discuss DrupalCamp London to see who is going from our area and perhaps we can discuss travel and accommodation together!

If you're in the South West, new or familiar to Drupal, we'd love for you to join us. There's enough tea and biscuits for everyone!

The address for the meet up is:

Indigo Herbs
Unit 8
Adlams Central Park
Wirrall Park Road
GLASTONBURY
BA6 9XE

It is right behind B&Q next to Burns the Bread. Take the turn into B&Q and keep right, the road will take you past B&Q, through a yellow gate and left. Indigo Herbs is in Unit 8 on the left hand side.

Find Indigo Herbs on the map here.

Please sign up here or ping us a message via the @drupalsomerset Twitter account. If you have any questions, please just ask!

See you there!

Note: As discussed at our December meetup, we will be moving Drupal Somerset to the second Thursday of every month so we do not conflict with other meetups. This meetup was rescheduled, but for future meetups this will be the case.

PHP7 upgrade

iAugur's picture

Since PHP5.6 reached end of active support in Dec 2016, I can introduce upgrading from PHP5.6 to PHP7.0 and issues involved.
I can also show/discuss some interesting new web exploits that we are seeing attacking CMS sites and how to guard against them.

Not many attendees...

We're looking quite sparse on attendees... It may be worth postponing until a later day. Just contacting current attendees to discuss.

The web is my playground of pixels.
