Demonstration of the Name Field module
Many Drupal projects have the need for a field for a person's name. The best module to provide this functionality is Name Field. Rick Hawkins will demonstrate why this is one of his favorite modules.
Demonstration of the Config Pages module
Brian Danin will give a demo of the Config Pages module, which allows site builders to create customizable, feature-rich configuration pages and place them in the menu system.
Theming Q&A
Bring your theming and front end questions (such as base theme recommendations) and we'll discuss them as a group.

Lesser-known modules
The next SeaDUG meeting is on Thursday, June 21.
I'm going to spend some time talking about, and demonstrating, one of my favorite lesser-known modules, Name Field. Once you discover its power and flexibility, you'll never go back to using basic text fields for names again.
If you know of a module that doesn't get the love you think it deserves, mention it here, and let's rectify the situation at our next meeting.
I really like config_pages,
I really like config_pages, which gives you a one-stop shop for things like menu configs or global configs. This lets you put it in a single place for stuff that really isn't an entity.
Config pages
Terrific. If you'll be at the meeting tomorrow, would you give a demo of Config Pages? If not, maybe next month?
Yeah, that should work well.
Yeah, that should work well. I plan to be there tomorrow.
As I'm about to start a fresh
As I'm about to start a fresh D8 migration with a coupled front-end, I'd like to hear what the cool kids recommend for a base theme.
Let's talk about it during announcements.
Theming
Let's make this a proper discussion about theming. We'll start with base theme recommendations and proceed with other questions and topics related to front-end Drupal development.
I prefer no base for complex
I prefer no base for complex sites (roll my own template files, pulling from core and contrib modules)
If it's not such a big site, I've used classy as a base (it's a messy theme implementation but for shallow sites it's ok)
Bootstrap is the only other basically reasonable base theme, but there is way too much packed into that theme in my opinion, and a lot of that stuff gets in the way in the end, so I don't find it very useful. Rather, using a custom theme with bootstrap.css or a couple of their .js files specifically called through libraries works better.
Meeting tonight!
Our SeaDUG meeting is tonight. We'll have demos of the Name Field and Config Pages modules and a theming Q&A. We'll also discuss Drupal news and announcements, such as thoughts about when Drupal 9 will be released, the new Drupal Spec Tool from Acquia, info about the PNW Drupal Summit, and upcoming changes to SeaDUG.
