I recently talked with folks from Surface 51 and Pixo who are interested in meeting up in Champaign-Urbana to talk Drupal again.
Would you attend a meetup in CU if it was at a day+time that worked for you? Let me know below.
I've been told we could use space at Pixo or Lodgic Everyday Community. Perhaps we have 1 hour of office hours where we cowork on Drupal stuff, ask for help, etc; followed by 30-45 min session presented on a relevant topic. Have a different idea? Let's discuss.
I'd be happy to organize and present, but I need to know there's interest.

Always willing to talk
Always willing to talk Drupal. If there's enough interest, I will make the hour and a half drive.
Open to attending a Meetup
I would attend any regular Meetups if someone were to organize them. Nights around 7pm or later work best for me M-Th.
I'm up for it
Assuming the date/time work out, I'd be interesting in meeting up. Having the local Drupal community be active again would be awesome.
There has been some interest in having a regular Drupal users meetup within the University of Illinois, but nothing has happened yet. Having a broader meetup might be a better option.
Sun-Thurs evenings would work best for me. Alternatively, if it was within a bus ride of campus, I could justify meeting up during the workday, and you might get more University folks.
Great!
Thank you for chiming in with your +1's.
I'm typing this from the monthly Downstate WordPress meetup on campus at the armory. It happens every second Friday, noon to 2 pm. As I arrived they were talking about the need for more Drupal discussions in town. I mentioned that we've started talking about restarting the meetup and a couple of people said they would attend. :-)
So between this group, that group, and the agencies in town, there seems like plenty of interest! Let's pick a date and time and see what happens.
Would you attend a Drupal meetup on the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm?
That would put our next few meetups on June 12th, July 10th, August 14th, etc. I'll start nailing down a venue.

Looks good
The second Wednesday of the month works for me. I won't be able to make the June 12th meeting, but the rest should work. Thanks for getting this going, David!
I won't be able to attend June 12th either but still interested
David,
I have prior obligations during the Summer months where I may miss a few but I will attend all of them that I can.
Thanks,
Bill
First meetup: July 10th @ Lodgic
Yes, I agree summer is a bear on regularly scheduled activities! Let's kick things off on July 10th. I've secured space at Lodgic. I'll add details to an event that I'll post here later on today. There is also a Central IL DUG on Meetup.com that I'll try and get this event listed on as well: https://www.meetup.com/Central-Illinois-Drupal-Meetup/.
In summary:
WHEN: July 10th, 2019 @ 7:00 PM
WHERE: Lodgic Everyday Community, 1807 S Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820
WHAT:
- Meet and greet other Drupal users in the community.
- Bring your Drupal questions or curiosities to share and get help with.
- Info about the upcoming beginner Drupal class at the Champaign Public Library.
- I'll present a brief 15-minute presentation on finding code regressions with Git Bisect.
All ages welcome. If there's interest I could get a sponsor to provide pizza and drinks.
What else? Let me know in the comments below if you're going to make this or not, and if you're interested in pizza and drinks.

Sounds great!
The 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm works well for me beginning in September. I'll plan to join you then.
July meetup postponed
I've heard that due to summer schedules the July meetup isn't going to work. Let's push this out to August 14th and hope it works better.
Know anyone that wants to learn the basics of Drupal? I'm teaching a 3-part Drupal beginner workshop at the Champaign Public Library. The event is currently full, but you can join the waitlist. They'll be emailing registrants in the days prior to the event so it's very likely that seats may open up. cudrupal.com.
