This month, we talked about two different methods for creating a community site. The first was using the Open Social Drupal distribution for creating site https://www.floridavoterrestoration.com/. We walked through how to create different content on the site, including how Open Social builds it. We also walked through the backend, showed pros/cons of using Open Social, and how to tweak some of the default settings to make the site more usable. For example, all events in Open Social are upcoming events. We showed how to display past events as well.
Jay Epstein ( https://jay-epstein.com/, https://twitter.com/jeppy64 ) show how he is using Drupal 8 Core plus a few contrib modules to build a community site for people to create customized posts with categorization and without using the Taxonomy module! He also went on to talk about the basics for creating a community site in a new and innovative way. Stay tuned!
We also spent some time answering other questions.
We had six remote users and zero in person.
