Start:
2020-03-25 11:30 - 13:00 America/Chicago
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

We will be using an online-only Zoom meeting at https://creighton.zoom.us/j/928651896 due to COVID-19 and social distancing concerns.

Over the past two years, the media landscape in Drupal 8 has seen a significant evolution. Much of the contrib code that was previously needed to support media management and usage has been replaced by Drupal core functionality. In many ways, this process has been a bit like keeping up with a moving train.

Chris Burge, Web Applications Developer at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, will present on the following areas:

  • Media entities
  • View modes for media entities
  • oEmbed provider management
  • Custom oEmbed providers
  • Media integration with CKEditor

Media usage tracking
Come with your questions and an appetite for learning (and an appetite for food, as we'll also be providing lunch).

Moving to online-only Zoom meetup

dave reid's picture

Do Space is making all their meeting spaces unavailable due to COVID-19 social distancing concerns and out of safety for their patrons. We will be switching to an online-only meetup through Zoom at this same time, so we'd still love to have you join!

Thanks, Chris Burge, for the great presentation.

I have attached the slides to the event and have included a link to the Zoom recording.

Also, thanks to those who made it out and for your participation.

If you couldn't make it, we hope to see you next time.

Yours,
Christian Burk

oEmbed Providers module

chris burge's picture

We've released the oEmbed Providers module. Two issues covered in last month's presentation are included in the project's scope:

  • Adding custom providers - committed but needs test coverage
  • Enabling/disabling providers - planned in the near future
